History and uniqueness

JERMI Käsewerk GmbH was founded 1889. At that time Michael Jerg bought the village dairy in the upper Swabian town of Baustetten. Today his name is still significant in the company name JER(g) MI(chael). This is now a well established trademark in the German market as well as internationally. JERMI considered the further processing and refining of cheese and begun in 1954 with the processed cheese production. In small quantities and with second hand machines the first new products were developed: small processed cheese blocks, processed cheese triangles and processed cheese sausages. Processed cheese specialities can be made by mixing cheeses with other ingredients such as herbs, nuts, salmon or Creme de Blu. With these added ingredients this producer creates completely new and innovative products, like processed cheeses Gateaux.
